About the ingredients

Hygge is committed to sourcing high quality Australian ingredients. As such, you may notice that unlike many other bath salt products on the market, our products do not include ingredients such as Himalayan Salt nor Magnesium Chloride Flakes - both of which are generally sourced internationally. We have instead sourced local alternatives which contain other beneficial properties.

Transparency is at the core of our operations and while we have made every effort to source Australian ingredients, the glass bottle itself is from Jiangsu, China. While we did make enquiries with Australian glass manufacturers, we found that due to the higher minimum order quantities and costs of production it was not viable to source the bottle from Australia. As the business (hopefully) expands, locating an Australian manufacturer or identifying an Australian packaging alternative will be a priority for us.

As a small business located in Melbourne, Australia, we want to spotlight other small businesses that make our product possible. Please see below for more detail on the Australian ingredients used within the Hygge products.

Lake Deborah salt

Lake Deborah is an ancient natural salt lake in remote Western Australia. The lake was formed over five million years ago when the world was free from modern pollutants. It remains free of contaminants due to its isolated location, about 450 kilometres from the city of Perth and 250 kilometres from Kalgoorlie.
